Hi all,
I have this Constantine MARTI CONSERVATORI I'm looking to ID. I'm thinking it's RIC 53 but it looks like it would also be the nearly identical RIC 862.

The coin is 4.65 grams. Which one would it be and why? Thank you!

RIC separates these coins by weight. The earlier and heavier (RIC VI) are 4-5 grams, and the lighter (RIC VII) average about 3.5 grams. So yours is probably RIC VI.

What he said!  :)

Plus, to confirm, you can measure the PRD (Pearl Ring Diameter) - the diameter of the dotted border from center-to-center. On the earlier heavier coin it should be ~22mm, and on the later one ~19mm. The size can be more reliable than the weight since it was better controlled - flan weights can be a bit random!

Thanks for the info! My coin has a pearl ring diameter of about 21mm... so close enough to 22mm, with the weight, it looks like it's the earlier issue. Thanks again!
