here's a sharp example of this rarer type

Maximinus II, as Caesar, BI Nummus. Cyzicus, circa AD 308. GAL VAL MAXIMINVS NOB CAES, laureate head right / VIRTVS MILITVM, four-turreted camp gate without doors; MKΓ in exergue. RIC 40. 6.05g, 26mm, 12h.

Wow! That is a super nice example! Most of the ones I have seen are a bit worn or corroded. That must have achieved a very good price!

I won it, but it was a bit irritating since I paid more than it sold for in the Triton CNG auction of January 2020, but I wanted it more this time.

I understand that completely! I had a similar coin show up in an auction, missed out and then saw it maybe 4 months later in a Roma Numismatics auction and it went for much more. I still missed out on it :/

But congrats! That is a really nice example and I am sure you will enjoy it :)
