Constantine I PACI PERPET from Rome
« on: January 10, 2016, 01:48:49 PM »
Here is a fairly rare coin that I got in a lot of otherwise unremarkable LRB's. The obverse is a bit weak and it has a slightly grainy surface, but still neat to find mixed with common coins.

Constantine I
AD 312-13
18mm 2.1gm
FL VAL CONSTANTINVS AVG; laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right.
PACI PERPET; Pax stg. facing, head l., r. holding branch, l. standard; in left field- XII.
in ex.  RS
RIC VI Rome 357

Nice pick up, the condition of the few of these I've seen is usually a bit rough so I think this one is pretty good for the issue

Yes, the condition is okay. I have had four of these in the past few years and this one is probably the median condition wise; but definitely the lowest I have ever paid for an example.
