The book Le Monnayage De Maxence (306-312 APRÈS J.-C.) by Vincent Drost is a new work on the coinage of Maxentius, which covers the coinage issued during the reign of Maxentius from the five mints that he controlled at one point or another- Carthage, Aquileia, Ticinum, Rome and Ostia. It has 363 pages with 61 coin plates and includes a CD. There are over 5000 coins surveyed, and with about 400 entries, that is almost 50% more than RIC VI. The book is written in French, but if you don't speak the language, it is easy enough to figure out the coin information, and there is also a 17 page summary in English. This is the definitive publication on the coinage of Maxentius and people interested in this period should definitely add this book to their library.
