Trier campgate reverse double strike
« on: May 25, 2015, 09:27:52 AM »
Hi all,

I managed to get this interesting campgate with what seems to be a double strike (if that is the correct term, not sure if brokage applies here) on the reverse. Hope you enjoy it!

Constantine II 324-325AD
Laureate, draped, cuirassed left, CONSTANTINVS IVN NOB C
Campgate, 6 layers, 2 turrets, star above, no doors, PROVIDEN-TIAE CAESS
STR
RIC VII Trier 455, R1, reverse double strike
20mm, 2.8g

Yes, double strike is correct, a brockage would be an incuse (sunken below the fields) design on one side of the coin.
