Flavius Victor? campgate. Which mint?

Hi everyone,

I recently managed to get this campgate. I am relatively certain it is Flavius Victor but I can't match the mint. The style looks like Arles with a possible ?C?N mintmark but I cannot match the first letter any of the know Arles workshops (TCON, SCON, PCON).

Any ideas? On the enlargement the first letter appears to be something like an M?

I agree that it seems to be Victor, but I can't decipher the mintmark either. There does look like an M in the mintmark, which would be Aquileia, like SMAQP, but the next letter does not look right either. It also seems like letters are missing, either from a weak strike/ clogged die/ wear or poor preservation. I also imagined for a bit that I could see (L) VG (P) for LYONS.   

Maybe in hand it will be more evident.

Thanks for the suggestions, Victor and Nikko. In hand I can't make it out either  which is why I took the enlarged photos. All I can think of is that there were die clogs which can explain the missing "O" if it was Arles. I will have a look at other mintmarks as well but the style reminds me very much of Arles.

@Nikko: I've already searched a bit but looking at wildwinds, coin project and acsearch does not give me any more hints. I noticed that the deamoneta archive search is pay for searching.

Hi,

I had another look at the coin and I think that Victor's first suggestion of Lugdunum, in this case LVGS, is correct. You can just about make out an S for the last character.
