Martinian (?)

This coin sold for 305$ but to me it looks suspicious. I think it might be an artificially patinated forgery.

It very well could be one of the Geneva forgeries, which comprised coins of Nigrinian, Julian of Pannonia, Domitius Alexander, Valerius Valens and Martinian. According to R.A.G. Carson, who wrote about these in The Geneva Forgeries, they were struck circa 1920's by the owner of an antique business in Germany. The fakes are very good and fooled many people, since they were handstruck.
