MAXIMINVS NOBILISSIMVS CAESAR reverse
« on: January 06, 2013, 07:44:54 PM »
Maximinus
A.D. 310
MAXIMINVS NOB CAES, Left, laureate, draped, cuirassed, right holding holding Victory on globe and left holding decorated shield.
MAXIMINVS NOBILISSIMVS CAESAR, Maximinus standing facing, head left, in military dress, right holding globe, left leaning on sceptre.
B in field, ANT in exergue
Cf. RIC VI Antioch 120

this coin is listed only for officina Z.

Interestingly, the bust type in RIC is wrong. RIC VI cites a specimen from Berlin, which actually has the same bust as this coin, rather than the helmeted bust type mistakenly assigned to it in RIC. For more on this, see Lech's NOT IN RIC page-

Hello Victor, do you still remember for how much this coin sold? I am looking for these rare Antioch issues.
