Constantine caesar, follis from Trier
« on: March 24, 2014, 07:20:57 PM »
Hi! My last purchase is a follis of Constantine I caesar from mint of Trier.

Obverse: FL VAL CONSTANTINVS NOB C, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from front
Reverse: GENIO POPVLI ROMANI, S-F / PTR, Genius standing, head towered, loins draped, holding patera and cornucopia

RIC 668c rated as "scarce". Is rarity, maybe, a little bit higher?

Now I can't take photos of the coin, but I can post them in the next days

I take a photo of the coin! The obverse is beautiful but the reverse has a weak strike and some green deposits (maybe easy to remove).

What is the rarity of the coin?

P.s: I bought it as "Constantius Chlorus follis"  for 45 dollars  ;D

I think it is more rare than just scarce...good catch!
