Galerius PROVIDENT DEOR from Lyon
« on: October 17, 2024, 01:09:44 PM »
I accidentally started collecting Tetrarchy antoniniani from Lugdunum because I had several listed on Vcoins; but they were not selling for what I thought they were worth. I don't actively look for them. but when I get one in a group of coins, I usually keep it. Here is my latest...a bit scarcer type for Galerius.

Galerius
A.D. 294
Æ Antoninianus 21mm 3.5g
GAL VAL MAXIMIANVS NOB C; radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right.
PROVIDENT DEOR; Providentia seated left, holding baton and sceptre; at foot globe.
In ex. II
RIC Vii Lugdunum 690
