new tool for scanning books and articles
« on: October 06, 2024, 03:17:12 PM »
I just got a ScanMarker which is slightly larger than a pen. You can scan sections from books or articles and save or print. It also translates as well. I looked up the G1 bust description in Bastien--

"Buste radié à gauche avec massue sur l'épaule droite et peau du lion de Némée sur l'épaule gauche."

and translated to English

"Radiate bust to the left with club on the right shoulder and skin of the Nemean lion on the left shoulder."

I already knew what it translated to; but wanted to see if the translation program would know and it worked perfectly.

I think this could be a very useful tool. The scanning takes a bit to get used to; but it will be nice to not have to try and type up large excerpts.

I have very old one of this type (circa 15-20 years; USB) and it's still very useful. Especially for making notes when reading a paper book. Of course no translation.
