Constantine I VLPP from Siscia
« on: July 03, 2024, 02:42:17 PM »
This coin is unlisted in RIC for bust type H11; but should be before RIC 74. It also has a sceptre or reversed spear; versus the normal depiction with spear point visible. The bust, which RIC lists as cuirassed only for this type, is cuirassed and draped. The left hand is visible and not holding anything...sometimes it looks like he is holding something like a mappa.
