Constantine I BEATA from Lyon
« on: October 14, 2021, 10:19:32 AM »
This coin is not in RIC for PLG•; though the footnote for 153 says "In L(ondon) 3 specimens..." one with the same mintmark as this coin and also VOT/IS/XX; though the reverse legend is broken as TRA-NQVIL-LITAS. By having it in his footnotes, Bruun seemed to think it was probably irregular and my coin has an unusual bust, so probably unofficial in really nice style.

Constantine I
A.D. 322- 323
17x18mm    2.7g
CONSTANT-INVS  AVG; laureate and cuirassed bust right.
BEATA TRAN-QVILLITAS; globe set on altar inscribed VOT/IS/XX; above, three stars; across fields C-R.
in ex. PLG•
RIC VII Lyons --

Probably. I see -NQUILITAS (single "L").

Yes, definitely just one L.
