Constantine I VLPP from Siscia with unusual decorated shield
« on: March 15, 2013, 06:35:58 PM »
I just got this one and thought it was neat. The shield is decorated with what looks like a bunch of the letter C's with a dot inside them. I wonder if it represents something or more likely just some artistic expression on the part of the engraver. It is from officina B which is often more decorative- the helmet with a Chi-Rho and shields with horseman all come only from this workshop.
